FRISCO, Texas — UTRGV guard Jalayah Ingram has earned this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.

Ingram scored the eighth-most points in the nation this week and tied for the most free throws made in the nation as she totaled 52 points, 26.0 points per game, and went a whopping 22-for-24 (91.6%) at the free throw line. She went 11-for-12 in both games, to improve on her already conference-leading free throw numbers to help power UTRGV to come-from-behind victories at Northwestern State and at East Texas A&M.
Ingram scored 23 points with five rebounds and one steal at Northwestern State, scoring 20 of those points in the second half after getting into early foul trouble. At ETAMU, Ingram scored a career-high 29 points, with 16 of those points coming in the fourth quarter. She scored 14 of UTRGV's points in a row to take the Vaqueros from tied to leading by six. Ingram also had five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in the game.
