FRISCO, Texas — Nicholls sophomore guard Jalik Dunkley has been named this week's Southland Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Dunkley is a first-time winner of this award.

Dunkley led Nicholls to a 3-0 week in Southland play, averaging 15.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and shot .517 from the field. He scored 16 points and and grabbed five rebounds in the Colonels' first road win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Dunkley followed that showing with his third double-double of the season with 22 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks at UTRGV. He was on the trail for another double-double before exiting early in a dominant Colonels win over East Texas A&M. Dunkley is averaging 17.6 points per game on a 64.4 field goal percentage.
