FRISCO, Texas — UIW graduate guard Davion Bailey has been named this week's Southland Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Bailey wins the award for the second time this season and for the third time in his career.

Bailey started the week on a tear, pouring in 34 points on nine made threes in UIW's near upset of Big 12 power TCU Monday night. The Cardinals graduate guard continued his hot streak when the team returned on home Sunday, scoring 24 points to lead UIW past Northern Arizona in their non-conference finale. Bailey has scored 24 points or more in four of his last five games and in seven of UIW's 12 games so far this season.
