FRISCO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi forward Garry Clark has been named the Southland Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week as announced Monday by the conference office. Clark is the second Islander to win the award this season, after teammate Dayne Prim did so in December.

Clark averaged a double-double of 17.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg to help the Islanders to a 2-0 week, with wins over both Southeastern and Nicholls. His week included a 22-point, 13-rebound double-double against the Lions. He shot 52.9 percent (13-of-25) from the field on the week and 87.5 (7-of-8) percent from the free throw line. Clark also recorded two assists, two steals and one block. He has scored 10 or more points in every SLC game this year, bucketing at least five field goals in each effort.
