McNeese's Fluri Doubles Up on Freshman, Player of the Year Honors as Women's Tennis All-Conference and Superlatives Announced

FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference announced this year's Women's Tennis All-Conference Teams and Superlative awards ahead of the 2025 Southland Conference Tennis Championships.

First-year McNeese star Salome Fluri shined on the ballot, winning both the conference's Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors. Fluri's tear through the season included a 9-0 mark at No. 1 singles in conference play and a 21-2 record overall at that flight. This marks the second year in a row a McNeese player has won the Freshman of the Year award.

Her teammate Anna Hollweg secured Newcomer of Year with six wins apiece in singles and doubles conference matches. That lifted a resumé that saw 30 wins across singles and doubles matches altogether this season.

Northwestern State's Marcos Morelli was named Coach of the Year after leading the Demons back to the top the Southland. The Demons clinched at least a share of the Southland Regular season for the sixth time in program history which also marks the second-most in the Southland all-time.
