THIBODAUX, La. – No. 8 UIW, No. 7 Southeastern, and No. 6 McNeese all advanced to the 2025 Southland Women's Tennis Championship quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.

Match 1 – (8) UIW 4, (9) Lamar 2
UIW raced out to the doubles point with dominant wins at No. 1 and 2 courts. With singles about a set in, the weather caused a nearly five-hour delay between rainfall and lightning. Upon returning, Estefania Gonzalez made it a 2-0 match with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Lamar got a point back behind a straight set win from Martina Alcaino at No. 6 singles, but Lyric Bonilla made it a 3-1 match with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. Luana Paiva got a point back, but Luciana Paez closed the match with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 5 singles. 

Match 2 – (7) Southeastern 4, (10) New Orleans 0
The doubles point proved pivotal in this match after Southeastern took the No. 1 court and UNO took the No. 2 court. With No. 3 doubles going to a tiebreaker, the team of Taisia Bolsova and Claudia Di Leonardo stormed back to take the doubles point, 7-6 (7-5). From there, the Lions cruised in singles play as Bolsova started it with a dominating 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles, followed by a 6-3, 6-2 win by Bente Bierma at No. 5. Leana Gomez closed the match at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Match 3 – (6) McNeese 4, (11) Nicholls 0
The Cowgirls took on a game Colonels squad in front of a loud home crowd. McNeese battled on all three courts and eventually swept the doubles point behind Erica Hagi and Alexa Martinez's 6-4 win at No. 2. Southland Player of the Year Salome Fluri cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles followed shortly after Ana Hollweg with a 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 3 court. Stella Rundova clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.
