Northwestern State's Shaw, Morris; Southeastern's Favour qualify for NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Nationals

FRISCO, Texas — Northwestern State's Maygan Shaw and Roy Morris, along with Southeastern's Onyah Favour are set to compete at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship in Eugene, Oregon from June 11-14.

Shaw and Favour both qualified in the 400m dash, while Roy qualified in the long jump.

Shaw, who is the 2025 Southland Outdoor Track & Field 400m dash champion and indoor and outdoor conference record holder, placed eighth with a qualifying time of 51.68.

Favour finished 12th with a time of 51.94 seconds, just 0.01 seconds off of her first round time from Thursday which broke the SLU school record in the discipline.

Morris is one of three freshmen to advance to nationals from the East First Round as well as one of four non-power conference athletes to be headed to Eugene.

He recorded his 24-8.25 jump on his third attempt, which took him from just outside the top five to the top spot and set him up for success as eight of the 24 from the final group surpassed Morris, but 12 advance from both regionals to the nationals and Morris settled in at ninth place.

The women's 400-meter dash semifinal, featuring Shaw and Favour, will take place at 5:41 p.m. PDT/7:41 p.m. CDT on Thurs., June 12.

The men's long jump final will take place on Wednesday, June 11 at 5:40 p.m. PDT/7:40 p.m. CDT.
