FRISCO, Texas – Northwestern State's Wil Achee and Southeastern's Alden Dupree have earned the Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week awards, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: Will Achee, Northwestern State – Sprints - So. – Bossier City, La. (Parkway HS)
Achee had a strong start to the season, breaking a pair of school records at the Corky Classic. First, in the 400-meter dash, he ran a 46.84 for the indoor school record. That time is nearly a full second ahead of second place in the Southland Conference this season so far. He also ran anchor for the 4x400 relay team that set an indoor school record with a time of 3:08.14, which is also the top mark in the conference, nearly 10 seconds ahead of second place in the event in the conference.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: Alden Dupree, Southeastern – High Jump - So. –Maringouin, La (Scotlandville Magnet High)
As a sophomore, Southeastern's Alden Dupree placed third in the LSU Purple Tiger meet in the high jump. His career-best 2.13-meter performance tied the first-place mark in Friday's meet and also entered in as the 26th-best high jump among all NCAA Division I student-athletes, ranking first in the Southland.
