Northwestern State's Beavers, Dudley win First Men's Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

FRISCO, Texas – Northwestern State's Kalen Beavers and La'Darion Dudley have earned the Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week awards, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: Kalen Beavers, Northwestern State  – Sprints - Jr. – Carencro, Louisiana 
Beavers continued his strong season with a pair of Southland-leading times at the Louisiana Classics. He ran a 10.20 in the 100m and 20.72 in the 200m, as he won both events at the meet. His time in the 100 is seventh nationally and his 200m time is tied for 17th nationally. In the South Central Region, his 10.20 time in the 100m is second and his 20.72 time in the 200m is tied for sixth.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: La'Darion Dudley, Northwestern State – Throws - Jr. – Tallahassee, Fla.
Dudley started his outdoor season with a personal-best 58-4.5 throw in the shot put, which is the top mark in the Southland so far by a foot and a half and the fifth-best mark in the South Central Region. His mark is also the 19th best mark in the nation.
