FRISCO, Texas - The bracket for the 2023 Southland Conference Women’s Tennis Championship has been released by the conference office. The tournament will be held at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Courts on the campus of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi on Thursday, April 20, through Sunday, April 23.

Live scoring will be available for each match, with the championship match on Sunday broadcast on ESPN+.

The winner of the single elimination tournament will claim the Southland’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Tennis Championship.
 
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi are the top seed after a perfect 7-0 regular season. The Islanders and second seed UIW (5-2 conference record) will face winners from opening round matches on Friday.
 
McNeese and Northwestern State tied in conference play at 4-3, with the Cowgirls taking the third seed thanks to a 4-3 win over the Lady Demons on April 2. NJIT slots in at the fifth seed based on a comparison of ITA rankings against the conference field.
 
Lamar and Southeastern tied with a 3-4 conference record, with the Cardinals claiming the sixth seed with a 4-3 win over the Lady Lions on April 4. Bryant then comes in as the eighth seed after the rankings comparison. Nicholls and New Orleans tied at 1-6 in league play and the Colonels will be the ninth seed after a 4-3 win over the Privateers on March 21.

When considering an affiliate member's ITA ranking relative to core/full schedule teams tied in the standings, the core/full schedule team with the higher ITA ranking will be compared to the affiliate member's ITA ranking. In this case, McNeese was the comparison team in the 3-4 tie, and Southeastern was the comparison team in the 6-7 tie.
