Brown of Texas A&M-Commerce & Lee of McNeese Earn Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

FRISCO, Texas – Kiara Brown of Texas A&M-Commerce & Mariah Lee of McNeese earned the Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week awards as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Kiara Brown, Texas A&M-Commerce – Sprints - Jr. – Dallas, Texas (Carter HS)
Kiara Brown grabs her second Track Student-Athlete of the Week award of the season. Brown ran a time of 7.28 seconds at the USATF Indoor National Championships to take seventh at the national meet. Her time is a new school record and tops in the Southland this year. 

Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Mariah Lee, McNeese – Throws - R-Sr. – Corsicana, Texas (Corsicana HS)
For the first time this season, Mariah Lee takes home the Field Student Athlete of the Week. Lee improved on her SLC best in the weight throw with a mark of 63-9.5, also a personal best, first a 1st place finish at the LSU Twilight. That ranks her #5 in the NCAA South Central Region and #70 in the NCAA.
