Texas A&M-Commerce & Northwestern State Student-Athletes Earn Women's Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week

FRISCO, Texas – Kiara Brown of Texas A&M-Commerce and Madison Brown of Northwestern State earned the Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week awards as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week: Kiara Brown, Texas A&M-Commerce – Sprints - Jr. – Dallas, Texas (Carter HS)
Kiara Brown grabs the Women's Track Student-Athlete of the Week for the first time this season after an impressive showing at the Colorado Invitational. Brown won two races, setting the school record and the best time in the Southland in both. She raced to a time of 7.37 to win the 60-meter dash and won the 200-meter dash at 23.44. Even Deion Sanders was impressed with her performance and met up with her in his office after the meet.

Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Madison Brown, Northwestern State – Pole Vault - Sr. – Natchitoches, La. (Natchitoches Central HS)
Senior, Madison Brown, earns the title of Women's Field Student-Athlet of the Week as she posted a personal best in the pole vault over the weekend. Clearing 12-6.75, Brown not only won the event at the Scarlet & Whitethe Bruce Lehane but also beat her own mark for the top mark in the Southland Conference.
