FRISCO, Texas – East Texas's Enoch Fosuhene and Lamar's Anthony Oliver have earned the Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week awards, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: Enoch Fosuhene, East Texas A&M – Sprints – Accra, Ghana
Fosuhene had an excellent weekend at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational rising through the national, regional and conference charts. His time of 10.13 seconds in 100 meter dash was ninth in prelims at Texas Relays (finished sixth in finals) and timed 20.52 seconds in the 200 meter dash at the Bobcat Invitational, which was best at the meet. He is the conference leader in both the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash, while being second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 39.76 seconds.
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: Anthony Oliver, Lamar – Throws - Jr. – Richmond, Texas (William B. Travis HS)
Oliver broke his own school hammer throw record in the Texas Relays as he became the first Cardinal to launch over 200 feet (61.54m/201-11) and took seventh place overall in the meet. The distance is the farthest in all of the Southland Conference and ninth in the NCAA DI South Central Region. He also placed 13th in the discus (47.48m/155-9).
